Color Code Events

You may now assign a color to each event type by selecting a color from a drop down list.

We recommend assigning a color to all of your event types.  The calendar will then display the event name in the corresponding color.

Many of the other pages that list events will display the event name in color.

Service and Conservation On Same Event

This feature is not applicable to Cub Scout and Girl Scout sites.

Scouts may now earn community service hours and conservation hours on the same event.

As shown below, you may update any event type to allow both types of activities to be credited.

When you enter an event of this type, it will have fields for entering both the default community service hours and the default conservation hours that will be earned by participants at this event.

If the event involves shifts, you can configure each shift to be either for community service or conservation.

When you take attendance, there will be override columns for both service and conservation hours.

Add New Location While Adding Event

If you know that the event you are about to add is at a new location that is not already in your TroopWebHost database, your best choice is still to click the Add Event At New Location button.  This will allow you to enter all of the details about the location, then proceed directly to the pages where you enter information about the event.

But what if you start entering a new event and discover that the location is not on the list?  Rather than make you start over, we now allow you to create a placeholder for the new location, which you can update later.

Here we show an example where we are entering a new event...

Not finding the location on the list, we tab past the Location field, at which point a new field appears:   New Location Name.

Entering a value into this field will cause a new location to be created with this name (unless a location already exists with that name, in which case the event will be linked to that existing location.)

After you finish creating the event, you should go to the Maintain Event Locations page and enter the rest of the details for this new location, such as the description, website URL, address, etc.

Mobile App - Color Code Events

Version 1.7.9 of the TroopWebHost Mobile App is now available for both Android and iOS devices!

The Calendar has been updated to recognize the colors that you configure for event types.

Mobile App - View Event Photos

Version 1.7.9 of the TroopWebHost Mobile App allows you to view the Photo Gallery photos for events.

You must have an Internet connection to be able to view photos.  You will see the first photo for that event when you select it from the calendar, as shown here.

Tap on this photo to view all of the photos for this event.

Swipe left and right to scroll through the images.

Mobile App - View BSA ID

Version 1.7.9 of the TroopWebHost Mobile App allows you to view your BSA ID from the My Account page.  It allows parents to view their scouts' BSA ID from the My Scouts page.

If a BSA Registration Expiration Date has been entered, it will also be visible.

Both the BSA ID and BSA Registration Date will also be visible from the Directory for authorized users.
