This month we made it easier to keep track of camping nights and community service hours.
But first we'd like to thank our newest subscribers!

Taking Attendance
We added two items to the Activities menu:
Take Attendance - Campout
Take Attendance - Community Service
Each will take you to a list of past events where you can record attendance.
The system automatically calculates the number of nights for each campout, based on the starting and ending dates.
But if a scout is unable to attend the entire event, he can still get credit for the nights attended if you enter that number into the Camping Nights Override column next to his name.
Community Service Hours
Attendance at community service events works much the same way.
The total hours for the event can be set in the upper right portion of the attendance page.
If a scout worked a different number of hours, you can set that number in the Service Hours Override column.
Click Save & Exit to save your work from either page.
Individual Participation Summary
The Rank Advancement Summary tab now gives you three ways to view a scout's participation in troop activities:
View All Participation shows all events this scout attended
Campout Nights Detail shows the campouts this scout attended
Community Service Detail shows the community service evnts this scout worked
You'll see this page when you click on "Rank" from Advancement --> Individual Advancement.
Camping Detail
When you select Campout Nights Detail from the previous page, you will see a summary of all the camping trips this scout attended.
You also have the ability to enter a number representing additional camping nights for which this scout deserves credit and a place to enter a comment explaining this decision.
If your troop is just starting to use TroopWebHost, this is a great way to quickly enter the camping nights earned to date for each scout.
Community Service Detail
Similarly, when you select Community Service Detail from the Rank Summary page, you will see a list of the community service events this scout worked.
Here you also have the ability to enter a number representing additional service hours and a comment explaining your reasons for giving this credit.
This allows you to give a scout credit for community service work that wasn't associated with your troop.
It can also be used by new troops in their transition to TroopWebHost.
