March 2022 Enhancements

Guidance For New Subscribers

Last month we updated the new site initialization process to provide detailed instructions on the home page.  At that time this was only available for new Scouts BSA sites from TroopWebHost.

We now offer the same type of guidance for Cub Scout Packs and Girl Scout Troops who are new subscribers to TroopWebHostCS and TroopWebHostGS.

Now, for all new sites, the middle section of the Home page changes after you log on:

We think this will make it easier for all new TroopWebHost subscribers to get their sites up and running.

Revised Startup Checklist

Last month, we updated the Getting Started chapter of the TroopWebHost User Guide to provide better direction for new subscribers.  Similar updates have now been applied to the Getting Started chapter of the User Guides for Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts.

Many pages have been revised, including the Startup Checklist.  As before, you can download the checklist as an Excel spreadsheet.

Retired Cub Scout Adventures

This feature is only for TroopWebHostCS sites for Cub Scout packs.

Last year the BSA announced that they planned to retire 19 of the least popular Cub Scout adventures from the program, effective May 31, 2022.

TroopWebHost will stop displaying these adventures on the Cub Scout Adventures & Badges pages starting June 1.  We will, of course, save the history for scouts who completed any of these adventures prior to that date.

The discontinued adventures are:

Tiger

Wolf

Bear

Webelos/Arrow of Light

Mobile App Version 1.6.8

Version 1.6.8 of the TroopWebHost Mobile App is now available for free at the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

This version now prevents users from signing up for a shift before the sign-up start date for that event.

It also will drop the 19 discontinued Cub Scout adventures from Cub Scout advancement when they are retired May 31.
