Subscribe to Calendar

Site administrators will see a new item on the My Stuff menu: Subscribe to Calendar.  This will display a URL that you can copy and paste into many popular calendar applications, such as Google Calendar™, Yahoo! Calendar™, and many tablet and smart phone applications.

These applications will synchronize with your troop calendar, so you can see all of your troop's events.

This URL is specific to your User ID.

Since some troops may not wish to risk making their calendar public, we have initially limited access to this function to site administrators.

You can authorize additional users to have access to the Subscribe to Calendar page using the Assign Tasks to Roles function from the Security Configuration menu.

As you would expect, more details are available in our User Guide.

Event Types

Last year we introduced the ability to configure your event types, giving you control over how each type of event is handled.

This month we've expanded that control in several ways.

Uncheck Display on Calendar if you do not want this type of event to appear on your troop calendar.  You may wish to create an event type like this for long running fundraisers.

Include in iCalendar Subscription will determine whether this type of event will be included in the calendar subscription service described above.

Require a Location controls whether you will be prompted for a location on this type of event.  You may wish to turn this off when creating an Event Type for holidays.

We initialized all of these options to Yes.

Please let us know if you have any questions or suggestions about these or any other features.

Thank you for your support!
